Lead teacher
Job Responsibilities:
The Lead teacher will perform the following duties in accordance with the ethics and standards of current practices and follow the FPNS Bylaws, Standing Rules, Policies, and Procedures.
● Help create a safe environment for preschool aged children, ages 2-5.
● Assist in implementing play-based curriculum, assembling materials and setting up a school environment to set up daily activities and help plan monthly activities for children that are creative and engaging with new ideas to the curriculum.
● Provide guidance to children during playtime and adapt to meet the interests and learning styles of individual children.
● Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
● Assist and guide the working parents who are helping during workdays in the room.
● Set up and clean activities and equipment at end of the school day
● Require working outdoors for the most part of the day.
● Attend monthly staff meetings and board meetings held each month.
● Keep up to date on first aid and CPR certification, and any other requirements of licensing.
● Other duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
● At least 12 ECE semester units in early childhood education and at least 50 hours of teaching experience over 6 months
● Must be able to effectively communicate with children and parents and other staff
● Have current CPR and First Aid training, mandated reporting training certificate.
● Obtain a TB test with negative result or TB risk assessment, and comply with California immunization and reporting requirements (Measles, and Pertussis vaccines are up to date)
● Applicants must pass a criminal background check and be eligible to work in the U.S.
● Applicant must meet all qualifications set by Community Care Licensing for a title 22
Program Schedule: The Lead Teacher position for preschool class is a three-day work a week,
with each day consisting of 3 hours. The Lead teacher position for the Pre-k class is for five-day
work a week, from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience or knowledge of cooperative preschools and a bachelor’s degree in a similar field of education.
● Demonstrate commitment to personal professional growth and learning.
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience and education level.
This is a part time position and there are no benefits at this time.
