CURRICULUM

Science and Nature

What kind of food makes our bodies strong? Where do earthworms like to hide? Do caterpillars really turn into butterflies? These and other timeless questions pondered by children are answered through hands-on exploration.

Arts and Crafts

Your future Picasso, Hokusai, or Georgia O’Keefe will be supplied with all the materials and guidance to create a masterpiece worthy of the refrigerator door or table centerpiece.

Story Telling

Choice stories, often related to the topic of the day, are read to children during circle time by animated teachers. Snack time is often accompanied by stories read by participating parents. Children and parents are encouraged to borrow books from our large collection of age appropriate books to nurture a lifetime love of reading.

Field Trips

Watch out world, because here we come! We visit pumpkin patches, petting farms, aquariums, firehouses, and dental offices to name a few places. We welcome suggestions for future trips too.

Music and Movement

“Music makes the people come together”, and it certainly brings the children together. We love to move and dance to all sorts of music. We explore music from around the world as well as contemporary and old-time favorites.

Cooking

There’s nothing more satisfying than eating the food that you made on your very own. Cooking gives children a sense of independence, accomplishment and pride. Parents/ guardians are strongly encouraged to share in the enjoyment of their child’s creation.
